What do you want to make happen? We want to make people love wine. We want to show people the benefits that wine, especially red wine can have on one’s health, both physical and emotional. Relaxing and having a glass of wine each night can help you become a healthier person all around. There will be a specific group of people we will be targeting which range from young to older adult.
What is the effect of the issue in my community? We can campaign around the community, promoting the health benefits of red wine. Pamphlets can be made and given to doctors’ offices to show the patients how red wine can prevent cardiovascular disease. Hopefully this will lower the risk of adults developing this disease.
What is the cost of not doing anything on this issue? By not doing anything on this issue, the risk of adults developing cardiovascular disease can increase. This is a simple task (that most people enjoy anyway) that can make them healthier and overall live a longer life.
What possible actions can be taken? By going to local wineries, we can discuss and figure out exactly what kinds of wines are the best for one’s health. Once this is figured out we can campaign through our towns. With posters, pamphlets, meetings, and videos, the point we are trying to make will clearly be made to our audience.
What are the consequences of these actions? It needs to be clear that we are not promoting alcoholism. We are not promoting to drink a bottle of wine a night and get drunk in order to become healthier. One-two glasses a day (must be 21 years old or older) is all we are suggesting.
Who else cares about this issue in my community? Anyone who is 21 years old or older can care about this issue. It is never too early to be concerned about your health and trying different things to prevent future diseases. Older adults who have maybe already developed cardiovascular disease will be particularly interested in this topic.
Audience--Our main audience will be anyone that is 21 years old or older. More specifically, we will be targeting adults that have been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease or those taking precautions to avoid developing this disease.
HOW will you make this happen?
1. Strategies- We will use statistics and real life stories to further prove our point that wine can improve one’s health. These facts will support our argument about drinking wine. The strategies we will use will be to visually grab our audience's attention through font, color, design, etc. The strategy to grab them visually will draw them in to read our points incorporated in the visual.
2. Medium--We will be using posters and pamphlets to advocate our topic. By putting up posters in local community buildings and handing out pamphlets to doctors’ offices for patients to read and get information from. It is also a possibility to post posters in liquor stores so persuade people to purchase red wine over other liquors. We also are thinking that we would want to make a brochure. Probably using the red wine color along with a light color that will pop out to the audience. The display will be modern and funky so that we can catch the attention of young people and hopefully some older people as well. If we use a brochure, we will make it less modern to allow for an older audience to look upon it. Perhaps, but it in brochure form in doctor's offices, etc.
3. Arrangement- We want to create a fun, interesting way to convey to our audience that wine is beneficial to one’s health. By creating a brightly colored pamphlet and posters that includes visuals and facts, our audience will be more interested. This will have a wine class pouring out facts about health benefits and the other pros that we plan on using to adovcate more wine drinking.
